• I teach and write about 20th- and 21st-century fiction, hope and utopia, technology, and animals.

    I have published the following books:


    My writing appears in journals such as Modern Fiction Studies, Contemporary Literature, Journal of Modern Literature, James Joyce Quarterly, Journal of Popular Music Studies, Critique, and Twentieth-Century Literature.

    I have lectured at the James Joyce Summer School in Dublin, Ireland, and at Trinity I have served on committees such as Promotion and Tenure, University Senate, and the UCC. 

    I teach “Literature and Self Reflection” in the Literature and Life FYE, Literary Methods, The Literary Imagination, and seminars such as Animal Studies and Modern Fiction, Animal Intersections, James Joyce’s Ulysses, Toni Morrison’s America, and Realism to Postmodernism and Beyond.
